Keflavik, Iceland

This MOMAULANT Detachment closed the mine facility at NATO base Keflavik, Iceland in September 1971. As  part of a fleet assignment by CNO all mines , material, movable equipment, etc. were shipped out on short notice. MNC Bobby Notgrass and his men shown below did a commendable job in fulfilling CNO's requirement. Mines went to NAD EARL, New Jersey and battery reefers went to NATO Base Souda Bay, Crete.
