PLANS LEADING UP TO THE REUNION

A special thanks to Ron Swart the Reunion Host and Leo Smith for hosting the Early Bird.  Also, thanks to the Innovative Professional Solutions 'Mine Shop' Team: Bob Bainbridge, Leo Smith, Ollie Collins, Brian Kopp, Nick Snyder, Ed Nixon, John Monn, and their boss, Mr. Terrance Houghton; Ken Waringa with IDSI and MNCS (SW) Brian Kopp of NSWC PCD for lending their time and talent to assist with this year's reunion.

The Association wishes to thank all who made contributions to the Mine Museums, General and Scholarship Fund.  Thanks to your continued generosity the Association awarded 21 $750 scholarships for a total of $15,750 during 2012.

New Members on Board of Directors: Philip DeChene and Tom Hoffman

New Reunion Committee Chairman: Maurice (Toby) Horn.

The President announced the Minemen of the year as follows:

Active Duty Sea ------ MN1(SW) JOHN CARVER, MCM CREW CONFLICT .
Active duty Shore --- MN1(SW) MARCO NAVARRO MINE WARFARE TRAINING CENTER, SAN DIEGO, CA.
Reserve ---------------   MN1 (EXW) SIDER VEGASEGURA  NAVAL RESERVE  MOMAU ONE 

We were honored to have Captain Scott Burleson, USNR, as our guest speaker  Captain Burlson is currently the Assistant Program Manager for the In-service Mines Program and also serves as the Chief of Staff for the US Fleet Forces Command Reserve Unit out of Greenville, NC.  He has a long history in Mine Warfare starting with service in an MSO, and later as the Mine Warfare Requirements Officer, he commanded during multiple Unit deployments to the Middle East and served as the Technical Director at the Mine Warfare Command.

Captain Burleson was presented with an AOM Coin and History Book.  

The 2013 Reunion will be held in  Oak Harbor (Whidbey Island) WA. and the 2014 reunion will be held in  Charleston, SC
